When are the 2026 World Cup matches?
The 2026 World Cup kicks off on June 11, 2026 with the opening match at the Estadio Azteca in Mexico City. The group stage runs through July 4. The Round of 32 — a new stage in this edition — takes place July 4-12. The Round of 16 runs July 12-16, quarter-finals July 17-18, semi-finals July 15-16, and the final is on July 19 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.
Match schedule and time zones
Most group stage matches are played between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM Eastern Time (ET, UTC-4). In the UK (BST, UTC+1), matches range from approximately 3:00 PM to 2:00 AM. Matches at Mexican venues (Azteca, Akron, BBVA) will have evening local kickoffs to maximize attendance.
